Al-Safa Pepperoni Pizza

The verdict?

HORRIBLE. It's true I am a pizza snob (I've worked at a pizza parlor for nearly a year and a half and eat it at least twice a week), but this was just awful. I didn't even get to the pepperoni, which is just as well, since it smelled nasty. The cheese and the sauce turned into one and was horrible and had this nasty aftertaste and I literally GAGGED. . .

I do like crappy frozen pizza on occasion, so I don't think it's just my snobbiness. I've had normal frozen pizza, bagel bites, hot pockets, etc. But this crap was just HORRIBLE. ):

  1. Thanks for the review! I've been meaning to try Al-Safa's pizza, but now I'll steer clear of it Insha'Allah. I have yet to find a decent halal pepperoni pizza. :P

  3. Assalamu aleikum Sr. Maddie. As the quality assurance manager at Al Safa Halal, I would like to assure you that the pizzas do taste great when properly handled through the cold chain. I can assure you that the pizza you bought was mishandled somewhere between here and the store. It sounds like the pizza might have thawed out and then refrozen, perhaps at the store or perhaps somewhere else. If you would kindly send me your name and address via e-mail at info@alsafahalal.com or via phone at 1-800-682-5408, I would like to send you a refund check, and also a second check for the same amount so that you can try the product one more time. I assure you that many many families buy our pizzas week in and week out and love them. I would also like if you could let us know where you bought the pizza, as I would like to send our salesperson to that store to find out if there is a problem with their freezer. Thanks for the opportunity to prove ourselves to you.
    Jamil
