ReplyDeleteSO glad I found this blog. I, too, am a "secret" Muslim. My parents do not know that I converted and I cannot tell them because they have threatened to pull me out of college if they find out. So, like you, I must wait until I am financially independent to be myself around them. It sucks. A lot. But Alhamdulillah, I am in college and free to practice Islam away from the eyes of my parents, but as soon as I enter their house, on goes the WASP mask. I can't wait to read more from you Insha'Allah!
Wow, so similar! And you even LOVE CHINESE LANGUAGE AND CULTURE?! Amazing! I do too. I'm studying the language and hope to visit China or Taiwan this summer or the next. It's a long shot, but. . . :D
ReplyDeleteWhen I first told my parents, I was young and living with them, and they said reject it or move out. I was so scared and shocked that I stopped practicing and eventually came back to it this summer. . . Now I live in a different house, but they send money to support me, and they pay for school. I feel bad since I haven't told them mostly for school, but I also would go broke without the monthly allowance they transfer over. Unfortunately for me, my school is in the city where my parents work and live, haha.
